Lieutenant Joseph Rogers

Lieutenant Joseph T. Rogers was born and raised in the City of Rosenberg. He graduated from B.F. Terry High School in 2000, and went on to attend Wharton County Junior College where he obtained an Associate Degree in General Studies.

In November 2003, Lieutenant Rogers was hired by the City of Rosenberg as a telecommunicator in dispatch; where he spent a total of 13 months dispatching both police and fire radios. In 2005 he graduated from the Wharton County Junior College Police Academy, and was hired by the Rosenberg Police Department as a patrol officer. In 2007, he was awarded the position as a Field Training Officer. In 2008, he was assigned as an investigator with the traffic division. In February 2009, he promoted to the position of patrol sergeant, which he served in this position for 10 years. In 2019, Lieutenant Rogers joined the criminal investigation division, where he specialized in the investigation for crimes against children. In 2021 Lieutenant Rogers was promoted to his current rank within the criminal investigations division. As the criminal investigation division commander, Lieutenant Rogers is responsible for the division’s personnel, which includes two sergeants, eleven detectives, and several support positions.
