We strive to create a collaborative relationship with the community to protect public safety and promote responsible pet ownership through public education, pet health initiatives, and operating under the most humane animal welfare practices. It is our goal to raise our standards as to become an exemplary municipally-operated shelter that ensures every animal is given an opportunity for a successful outcome.
Mission Statement
To protect our community’s public safety and health through the enforcement of city animal ordinances.
To provide community members with education on responsible pet ownership, animal law enforcement, and resources available to ensure pets remain with their owners.
To adhere to the animal welfare industry’s best, and most humane practices for animal healthcare and shelter management.
To maintain a live-release rate of 90% or greater through the implementation of pet placement programs, partnerships with rescue organizations and other animal welfare entities, and owner-reclaim efforts.
