West Fort Bend Management District (WFBMD)

Overview

The West Fort Bend Management District (WFBMD) was created through Senate Bill No. 1820 in the 79th regular session of the Texas Legislature in 2005 (codified as Section 3835 of the Texas Special District Local Laws Code).  The WFBMD seeks to establish an economic climate that encourages sustainable growth and improves citizen quality of life by enhancing major highway and street corridors in and around the Cities of Rosenberg and Richmond. The WFBMD has representatives from both the City of Rosenberg and City of Richmond.

Section 3835.052(a)(2) of the Texas Special District Local Laws Code provides that the City shall appoint two voting directors of the Board of Directors of the District from persons nominated by such Board.  Section 3835.052(a)(3) provides the City of Rosenberg and the City of Richmond shall jointly appoint one voting director of the Board of the District, from persons nominated by such Board.

  • On June 18, 2019, City Council appointed Anthony Sulak to the WFBMD Board by Resolution No. R-2775.
  • One July 6, 2021, City Council appointed Robert Duran and Lane Ward (jointly with Richmond) to the WFBMD Board by Resolution No. R-3105.
