Source Water Assessment & Protection Program

The City of Rosenberg and surrounding communities have joined together in an effort to develop and implement a local Source Water Protection Program. In order to keep the community’s drinking water clean and safe, Rosenberg and the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) are focused on protecting the source from contamination.

Source Water

Source water protection is the first barrier against potential contaminates, proactively safeguarding human health against waterborne contaminate threats, as well as saving money for the community. Rosenberg’s source water comes from the Gulf Coast Aquifer, which supplies quality drinking water to over 35,000 people. Individual citizens play an important role in protecting this drinking water; protecting water quality begins at home.
