2035 Comprehensive Plan
On November 17, 2015, The City of Rosenberg adopted its first Comprehensive Plan since 1995. The Plan considers Rosenberg's growth, development, and redevelopment objectives over the next 20 years. See the Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee meeting agendas.
The plan will guide the future decisions of City leadership regarding the types, patterns, and directions of growth; the scope and direction of transportation and other infrastructure network expenditures; and the enhancement of community design and character.
Development Process
The plan development process was led by the planning firm of Kendig Keast Collaborative, with the support of the City of Rosenberg staff. The Rosenberg Planning Commission served as the principal advisory committee to the comprehensive plan, assisting with plan development and review. Citizens were given the opportunity to comment on the plan to City staff and at public meetings, and to follow and participate in the process via the City website.
There are many needs that had to be prioritized and incorporated into a long-term strategy and improvement program to pro-actively address Rosenberg's rapid growth fueled by the expansion of the greater Houston metropolitan area. The planning process provided for multiple opportunities for community input, including a Community Workshop on Thursday, October 9, 2014, that all residents, property owners, businesses, and other stakeholders were invited to participate in and express their ambitions for the City's future (View the Overview Presentation Presented by Kendig Keast at the October 9, 2014 Community Workshop (PDF)). There were also opportunities to participate in online "town hall" type discussions.
